Distance Education - Music Education & History Resources for Teachers
http://www.distance-education.org
Music participation plays a huge role in education. It prepares students for higher learning by stimulating every facet of their mental and physical faculties. Music teachers direct students to listen and hear in new ways. Students who participate in music education develop a stronger sense of aural discrimination. For instance, playing instruments teaches students about sequential learning, an important skill in reading comprehension. Music heralds as the foremost instrument for education, according to Plato. Music teachers from all over the world agree with this statement. In fact, recent research has revealed that music stimulates both sides of the brain, which makes it invaluable educational tool. It causes the student's brain to grow academically, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

America's Angel Campaign
http://americasangel.org
The America's Angel Campaign brings you the opportunity to join this national movement that weaves 21st Century science, the influence of conscious celebrity parents, and the power of patriotism with the one shared wish of every child.

Today, in the homes of America, we are raising tomorrow’s future. In our homes are our up-and-coming parents, politicians, doctors, teachers, CEOs, child care providers, soldiers, attorneys, athletes, and celebrities. We know that joy-based families create the environment for the young brain to develop compassion, empathy and ethics. We know that the stress of fear-based families disrupts these neural connections. America's Angel provides the conduit to bring what we know to the people that need to know it, from parents to policy makers.

EduARTS 4 US
http://eduarts4us.blogspot.com/
Hello - Let me introduce myself. My name is Ron Zell. I am a former California k-8, public school music teacher.

Let me tell you why I am a writing this blog. In the 'It is what it is' mentality of the present time, - You can never change the past, - and while I believe thats true, you can and must learn from it. Institutionalized Education is still sinking, still laying off teachers, and still failing our students. There are however, lifeboats on the horizon. The future can only be changed by what we do with the present. Specifically, this blog will concentrate on the ARTs in the Art of education. Because so much of both the Art of education, as well as the ARTS IN education has been stripped from our public schools, I think there is a need for a place where educators, students, parents, and other stakeholders can share and exchange information on the arts in education- all the while finding new ways to apply it..
